Al B. Sure! – yes, he still has the exclamation point in his name – is set to release his first studio album in 15 years.

Al B Sure

Honey I’m Home is scheduled (extra emphasis on the scheduled) to drop June 23 on Hidden Beach.

According to Billboard.com, the album will feature eleven new original songs as well as covers of Sting’s “Fragile” and Michael Jackson’s “Lady in My Life.”

I wonder if any of those original tracks will focus on how painful it is to have your son claim your baby mama’a other, much richer, baby daddy and not you, and then put your deadbeat ways on blast in front of the whole blogosphere.

A call would’ve been so much more appropriate.

Nothing makes me not want a wedding like an episode of Bridezillas.

It just seems easier to go to City Hall. Or… you could pull a Nick and Mariah and put together a destination wedding and hope only your closest friends show. Tres Sugar asked first.

Where would you want to have a destination wedding?

MADtv ended it’s 14 year run Saturday. I completely forgot. Just as well as I haven’t watched the show in years.

I’m still stuck on classics like, “My White Mama” and “The Octoroon.”

Mrs. Obama is not a great beauty.

iman

In a recent interview with Parade, 53-year-old supermodel Iman said, “Mrs. Obama is not a great beauty. But she is so interesting looking and so bright. That will always take you farther. When you’re a great beauty, it’s always downhill for you. If you’re someone like Mrs. Obama, you just get better with age.”

It seems Iman was under the impression she was giving the First Lady a compliment.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kate said of her coif:
“everybody wants it…it’s work. I have very, very thick hair, so it’s not going to work for everybody….My hair stylist gets calls from all across the country.”

For Realz?

It’s really unfortunate that nude photos of both Cassie and Rihanna were leaked to the internet recently. It’s also unfortunate that the umm, exposure didn’t at least generate enough buzz to boost the ladies’ sales.

Despite being hot topics on the blogs, neither has seen an increase in sales.

First the good news: This week the very talented Chrisette Michele celebrated her first No. 1 album, Epiphany.

Now, the bad news: At 83,000 sold, Epiphany is the lowest debut on the charts since Soundscan’s inception 18 years ago.

Despite being everywhere – SNL, Ellen, lunching at the Ivy with new BFF Kim K – Ciara came in third with Fantasy Ride. Miley “It’s still a felony!” Cyrus held the No. 2 spot.

Eminem’s big comeback isn’t shaping up so well.

First, Nick Cannon rips him a new one. Now, the critics aren’t really feeling his super anticipated latest effort. (Well… some people like it.)

I haven’t heard the album and frankly haven’t been interested in watching the videos he’s released more than once. Are you really still beefing with girls? Nick had a good point. How many other rappers are beefing with women?

The whole Nick v. Eminem thing is old news now (at least until Em retaliates) but, better late than never.

Check out my favorite 5 points from Nick’s now-removed blog tirade against “Slim Lamey” after the jump!

America’s Next Top Model Is…

Teyona!

No big surprise. Teyona’s photos were the most consistent and she nailed all her go-sees. I just wish she would’ve pulled it together as well during judging.

At the start of the finale I was pulling for Aminat. During her kiss-off, Tyra basically called her a butherface. According to Tyra, Aminat’s the next hot body, with a shape that rivals Naomi Campbell but her face just doesn’t look pretty in pictures.

My early-early favorite was Fo. Super cutie. Hope she gets work.

I kind of already knew Katy Perry was badass – in less than a decade she’s gone from gospel pop to “I Kissed A Girl.” But last night Katy Perry made the most badass move in American Idol guest performer history.

She rocked an Adam Lambert cape!

I’ve watched Idol from day one and I’ve never seen a celebrity on the show – guest mentor or performer – show such support for a contestant.

A lot of Idol fans are upset saying the producers should not have let her rock the cape. It’s possible they didn’t even know. I don’t think this will make any one who wasn’t an Adam fan become an Adam fan. It seems like the people who would be persuaded by Katy Perry are likely already Adam fans.

Besides, Adam was on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. If the show’s producers allow contestants to pose for magazine covers, couldn’t that influence viewers? Especially when the media is fascinated with a contestant as has been the case with Adam.

Whatever. The cape was badass.

*Editor’s note: I talked to my mom, who is also Idol-obsessed, this morning. She said, “I like her but, what was that? I don’t think that was the time or place.” And Mom’s actually more of an Adam fan than I am. Cape stunt slowly becoming less awesome to me. Still badass, though.
