A while back I blogged about Project Runway‘s Chris March and his working relationship with Thierry Mugler and Beyonce.

Chris March

Chris March

March, working as Mugler’s assistant, helped create Beyonce’s hottest Sasha Fierce looks for her tour. Now he says Mugler hasn’t paid him for the work he did.

Perez Hilton recently wrote on his Coco Perez website that March was suing Beyonce. The designer quickly got a statement to Perez through a spokesperson making it clear that his lawsuit was against Mugler, not the singer. Check the statement:

“Chris March’s lawsuit is not against Beyonce, but rather against Thierry Mugler and Tancrede Prinz, who owe Chris money for having designed and fitted Beyonce’s costumes. Beyonce paid them, but they in turn have not paid Chris.

Chris continues to be a fan and great admirer of Beyonce who looks beautiful in everything she wears, especially Chris’s costumes.”

Side note: What was up with Chris sleeping through most of the Project Runway: All-Star Challenge?

Today Run DMC and the late Jam Master Jay were honored today when the intersection of Hollis Ave and 205th Street in Hollis, Queens was renamed Run DMC JMJ Way.

Check out the video.

Footage from Rap Radar

Ryan Jenkins, a contestant on VH1′s Megan Wants A Millionaire, is a “person of interest” in the case of murdered model Jasmine Fiore. Jenkins reported Fiore missing, but hasn’t been seen or heard from ever since making the call. She was found strangled to death Saturday morning. She was 26.

Details are sketchy – it appears that Jenkins and Fiore may have been married, before or after the show began taping.

Sources told TMZ that Ryan was one of the finalist on the show and perhaps even the winner. VH1 has stopped airing the show indefinitely. Check out their statement:

Ryan Jenkins was a contestant on Megan Wants A Millionaire, an outside production, produced and owned by 51 Minds, that is licensed to VH1. The show completed production at the end of March. Given the unfortunate circumstances, VH1 has postponed any future airings. This is a tragic situation and our thoughts go out to the victim’s family.

Way to distance yourself from the situation VH1! Not that it had anything to do with you anyway.

Megan Hauserman is a VH1 favorite. She started out on Rock of Love and has also been a contestant on I Love Money and Charm School. Tidbit: According to her Wikipedia page, Megan has a degree in accounting! Interesting given her blonde bimbo persona.

“Men can do some really filthy things in the club. I can tell you this much.” – NeNe

ATL’s most popular housewife, NeNe, confirms the rumors about stripper past in her new book.

NeNebook

In the memoir, titled Never Make the Same Mistake Twice, NeNe says that after her first son was born she found herself broke and in danger of eviction and decided to get a job at “the most glamorous upscale gentlemen’s club in Georgia.”

She also says it was her husband Greg who persuaded her to stop dancing. Perhaps they met in the club. That’s the scene I want to read in this memoir.

I don’t really care that NeNe used to be a stripper. I’m just glad she didn’t name her book “Twisted Hearts.”

Not in the ratings, but on the iTunes TV show list! Don’t worry fellow Mad Men lovers, we’ll get there.

The best show on television’s third season premiere pulled 2.8 million viewers, 34% more than last season premiere. With the 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. encore presentations included, the show had 4 million viewers.

Jordin Sparks is replacing Ciara as opening act for the “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” tour.

Reps for both singers confirmed the switch to Billboard. No reasons were given but, I’m betting there’s more to this story.

I don’t think it’s asking too much of “mainstream” (read: not-black) celebrity blogs to try to stay on top of Black celeb news. I mean, you don’t have to tell me when the next Yukmouth album is gonna drop, but you should know some of the basics.

Last Tuesday, actress Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon was on The Wendy Williams Show and let it slip that her friend, and former co-star, Jamie Foxx recently had another child. She said that Foxx told her this after they ran into each other at a party.

So today, A FULL WEEK, after Garcelle’s Wendy Show appearance Perez Hilton, posted an item saying that Garcelle was pregnant with Jamie Foxx’s child! Hmm, what would her HUSBAND OF ALMOST 10 YEARS SAY!?

Perez_wrong_Foxx_story

So, of course Perez realized he’d gotten it completely wrong and edited the post. But this is just an example of what a lame attempt even the most well-informed celebrity bloggers make to stay up on black news.

Despite being Billboard’s male artist of the year in 2008, many blogs didn’t pay attention to Chris Brown until he beat up Rihanna. So, maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised to see how many times he was identified as rapper Chris Brown. But, I was.

In “mainstream” celeb news, black male singers are often referred to as rappers. All black women artists are labeled as R&B. And celebs that are pretty well-known in the black community often go unidentified in group paparazzi shots.

C’mon folks!

You may have seen this video, but my siblings are obsessed with it, so I feel the need to post. This little girl is no joke.

lego

Warner Bros. and Sherlock Holmes producer Dan Lin are developing a live action / CG movie based on Legos – a truly classic toy.

According to Risky Biz Blog, the film is “set in the world of Lego that centers on the idea of achild-like imagination and examines themes of creativity and teamwork in the manner of Toy Story.”

I’m there.

Everyone’s favorite auntie, Oprah, was recently given a tour of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, by everyone’s favorite rapper, Jay-Z.

Twitterer F**kKeriHilson posted this pic.

Rumor is, Jay-Z, whose Blueprint 3 drops September 11, will be on an upcoming episode of Oprah and the two were filming a segment. They visited Jay’s grandmother’s stoop as well as the Marcy Projects – where he was raised.

Jay-Z would be quite the unconventional guest for Oprah, who typically only has rappers on to debate critics of rap music. Ludacris was on while promoting Crash, but later said he felt disrespected by Lady O.

I’ve never really taken issue with Oprah’s criticism of Hip-Hop because, I don’t expect most women in their 50s to bump Young Jeezy but, it will be nice to see Jay on the show.
