The hottest of Beyonce’s most recent looks are the work of designer and perfumer Thierry Mugler, who also serves as her tour’s creative director, helping Sasha achieve a new level of fierceness.

Mugler’s also the genius behind the hotness that was George Michael’s 1992 “Too Funky” video.

Peep the influence. The video also featured the motorbike dress – the prelude to this getup Sasha’s been rockin.

So.. anywho. Chris March of Project Runway is now Thierry Mugler’s assistant. Runway fans remember Chris’s often over-the-top costumey pieces. He even incorporated human hair in his designs! I see March and Mugler as a perfect fit. Here’s Chris on the set of Beyonce’s Marie Claire shoot.

Rachel Roy recently debuted her 2010 Resort collection. It’s all very soft and beautiful and made me daydream about a fantasy weekend getaway.
Here are a few Rachel Roy looks I’d pack:
Lunch and some walking.

I need this coat!

Soaking up some sun.

And dinner.

Thursday night four blue 50-foot-wide Burberry signs were the latest lights added to the New York night sky.

The signs are on top of Burberry’s new midtown Manhattan U.S. headquarters at 444 Madison Avenue. Burberry along with several celebrity guests (including members of the Gossip Girl cast) celebrated at the Palace hotel (where Chuck and Serena live!) .
Lady Gaga was photographed by David LaChappelle for the Rolling Stone Hot List issue.

The article covers the usual 23-year-old mysterious pop star fare – cocaine, bisexuality and being different-sexy.
Lady Gaga has been my morning subway soundtrack for too many months now. “Money Honey” wakes me up like nothing else. However, I’m getting tired of reading about the same old sex and drugs – duh!- hopefully it touches on more. Like who designs those damn outfits? Or maybe some more about her pre-fame songwriting resume and the evolution of her persona (which she says is not a persona).
Mrs. Obama is not a great beauty.

In a recent interview with Parade, 53-year-old supermodel Iman said, “Mrs. Obama is not a great beauty. But she is so interesting looking and so bright. That will always take you farther. When you’re a great beauty, it’s always downhill for you. If you’re someone like Mrs. Obama, you just get better with age.”
It seems Iman was under the impression she was giving the First Lady a compliment.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kate said of her coif:
“everybody wants it…it’s work. I have very, very thick hair, so it’s not going to work for everybody….My hair stylist gets calls from all across the country.”

For Realz?

And don’t hate on my fashion choices. The options were limited.
Bravo’s answer to Project Runway‘s exit, The Fashion Show, debuted last night with a 1 hour and 15 minute premiere.

The show is so similar to Runway that it’s hard to compare the two. The main difference is the people. I miss Tim Gunn’s concerned looks and advise and Michael Kors’s bitchy critiques.
The only real difference to the show’s concept is that at the end of each challenge, rather than showing their designs just to the judges and their competition, designers’ looks will will judged by an audience of fashion industry insiders. Get it? It’s a Fashion Show, every episode!
A lot of folks seem to hate the show. I didn’t love or hate it but, so far I’m underwhelmed by the fashions.
Last night, designers were divided into three groups to create a cohesive collection around a must-have item. They came up with a bolero jacket, harem pants and a tube dress/skirt thingy.
I was happy to see IMG Fashion Senior VP Fern “Mother of Fashion Week” Mallis, one of my favorite Runway. Isaac Mizrahi, love him or hate him (I kinda love him), is always entertaining. His “Bye-Bye Darling” kiss-off was an episode highlight.
Kelly Rowland, specifically her look, is one of the best things about the show. Bravo’s actually selling her looks on the show’s website.

She looks fabulous. Her hair is so pretty and shiny she should re-shoot her Dark and Lovely box with her new hair!

“Relaxers that dry my hair out? That’s played out.
We also heard for the first time what I’m hoping will be Kelly’s catchphrase: “You’re still in the competition, but you’re hanging by a thread.” She delivered that warning to Kristin whose Cheapo Depot design almost got her eliminated.
In the end, Jonny was sent home because not only was his design cheap-looking like Kristin’s, it was also slutty, and that’s just too much.
The preview for next week’s episode looks like drama.
